Must See Summer Events and Festivals in Los Angeles

Millions of people head to Los Angeles every year to people watch, take studio tours and check out Hollywood. Nearly as many travelers flock to the city for one of the summer music festivals or one of the other unique events. When planning your trip to LA, think about visiting around one of these fun events.

626 Night Market

Paddock Gardens is home to one of the largest Asian markets in the country, and it hosts the 626 Night Market in the summer. Set for every Friday and Saturday night until the last Saturday in September, this event features more than 150 vendors selling food and Asian products. You’ll also find films shown on a big screen, local artists showing some of their work and live entertainment. The market is open until 1 a.m. each night, though you’ll want to get there earlier to experience everything.

Lotus Festival

Echo Park Lake is easily one of the most beautiful places in all of Los Angeles, and it plays host to the annual Lotus Festival. Scheduled for July 15-16,2017, the festival will celebrate the Bangladesh people living in the area as well as the Asian American people who moved there over the years. Not only will you have the chance to see the lotus flowers in bloom, but you can also watch the boat races that feature boats decorated to look like dragons. The festival will also have live bands and musicians playing each day as well as food vendors set up.

D23 Expo

Disney is one of the top employers in Los Angeles, and the company is at the center of the D23 Expo, which takes place in Los Angeles. This event brings Disney lovers in from all around the world. You can get an inside look at some of the new rides arriving in Disney parks and some of the films and shows produced by the company too. Guests have access to exclusive Disney collectibles like buttons and stuffed animals too. D23 will take place July 14-16.

FYF Fest

FYF Fest started as one of the top anti-establishment festivals in the world. Though it changed over the years, it’s now one of the top music festivals and showcases local bands and unsigned artists. Located near downtown, this festival is easy to reach. To bring in larger crowds, the festival now welcomes some headliners and national touring acts. The 2017 Festival, which takes place July 21-23, features headliners like Missy Elliot, Nine Inch Nails and A Tribe Called Quest. You can spend hours dancing, checking out the vendors and stalls and seeing your favorite artists.
